Neil Lennon has been forced to leave three players out of his squad for tomorrow’s Europa League tie against Copenhagen.

Greg Taylor, Leigh Griffiths and Hatem Abd Elhamed were all missing from the squad that arrived in the Danish capital late this afternoon.

The absence of Griffiths forces Lennon’s hand in terms of team selection with the 4-2-3-1 formation that served the side so well in the group stage matches certain to resume.

The Daily Record reports:

Celtic will be without Leigh Griffiths and Greg Taylor for the Europa League clash with Copenhagen on Thursday. The Hoops flew to Denmark on Wednesday but were without Griffiths and Taylor.

Israeli defender Hatem Abd Elhamed is also still missing despite returning to training last week. Griffiths trained at Celtic Park on Wednesday morning and it’s understood he picked up a knock before they were due to fly out.

Taylor was pictured training at Celtic Park this morning but suffered a hamstring injury at Aberdeen and won’t be risked. Elhamed played in the opening four matches in the group stage but hasn’t played any football since the win over Lazio at the start of November.

Both Griffiths and Taylor are expected to be available for Sunday’s match against Kilmarnock but the absence of Elhamed will be a concern.

Ryan Christie, Chris Jullien and Odsonne Edouard are one booking away from being suspended for next week’s return leg.
