Celtic are still waiting to discover the extent of Scott Brown’s calf injury.

The hoops skipper was substituted in the 73rd minute of the 1-1 draw against Copenhagen last week and missed Sunday’s 3-1 win over Kilmarnock.

Having the reassurance and drive of Brown in the centre of the park would be a big bonus for Thursday’s return leg against Copenhagen but the full damage of his injury has still to be determined.

Brown, James Forrest and Olivier Ntcham were missing from the win over Kilmarnock with The Sun reporting:

Lennon is sweating on the fitness of Brown and Ntcham but has every faith in their replacements- Tom Rogic and Ryan Christie – if they fail to make it.

He said: “Jamesy should be fine but we will have to wait and see with the other two. Olly has a bit of a calf strain that he has been playing with for the past two games and we didn’t want to risk him but, I’m delighted with the guys who came in. I’m delighted with the quality and desire to get the ball back at times.”

As Steven Gerrard was losing the plot with his players again Lennon was full of praise for his squad as they stretched their lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership.

A 100% domestic record has added 10 points to Celtic’s lead since the turn of the year despite Celtic appearing to have the more difficult run of fixtures.

This week the attention switches to the cup competitions but as the fans demonstrated yesterday closing in on a ninth successive title is bringing new focus to everyone at the club.
