For once some Ibrox fans may agree with Chris Sutton.
Like the James Keatings booking last weekend everyone that took a look at the action from St Johnstone today had a certain view on Nikola Katic.
Kris Boyd was blunt enough, telling Sky Sports viewers it was the worst performance he had ever witnessed from an Ibrox centre half. Not too long ago Danny Wilson, Rob Kiernan, Clint Hill, Pip Senderos, Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso were filling that place in the team.
For 90 minutes Katic had a ‘mare, leaving him on for 90 minutes is the question being aimed at Steven Gerrard tonight with the Ibrox boss adding to the confusion with his post match comments.
Pretty remarkable stuff this… didn’t want to take Katic off in the first half as it may have ruined him… but threw Katic under the bus after the game… which may ruin him anyway… https://t.co/YnFJ9fBEsH

After seven minutes the Croatian starlet booted the ball skywards then failed to chase back as Callum Hendry opened the scoring. Ten minutes from time a poor clearance by Katic rolled towards Stevie May who promptly rattled in the equaliser.
Gerrard faces an almighty inquest with this week’s fixtures- away to Braga and Hibs- cranking up the pressure on the Liverpool legend.

There’s only so much blame that you can throw at players, that maximum appears to have been reached today. Any more slip ups and the attention will be firmly in the dug out and the man that seems unable to put together a side capable of holding onto a lead against Hearts, Kilmarnock or St Johnstone.
