They probably thought that it was a great talking point but it simply destroyed any last credibility that the programme had.
According to Gary Caldwell on last night’s BBC Scotland programme ‘Rangers have a better 1-11’ than the league leaders, the team that has won the last 10 domestic trophies, the side that has been Scottish champions for the last eight years.
At the start of this season the former Scotland defender was manager of Partick Thistle but on September 19 the Jags decided to reach for the P45 with a record of 16 wins from 42 matches.
That followed a disastrous spell in charge of Chesterfield where he won three of 29 matches as they headed for relegation from the Football League.
Since the SPFL resumed the excitement of an ‘Old Firm title battle’ going right to the wire has gradually been downplayed.
Celtic’s advantage has been stretched from two points to 10 with a goal difference advantage of 18. Alternative discussion points have been chased that avoid the obvious that Celtic are superior in every aspect on and off the park.
As they chase a historic Quadreble Celtic’s 1-11 won’t be bothering about the opinion of Caldwell, they’ll be doing everything to keep their place in Neil Lennon’s side ahead of Moi Elyounoussi, Ryan Christie, Tom Rogic and others.
In three head to head matches this season the scoreline reads 4-2 in Celtic’s favour with two wins and one defeat for Lennon’s side.
Former Celtic & Scotland defender Gary Caldwell on Sportsound. ‘I think one to eleven Rangers are as good or possibly even better than Celtic… but I don’t think Rangers know how to get over the line’. Catch up via the podcast – https://t.co/axhw3iy17B pic.twitter.com/P8mmtePNC5

Toeing the party line already. Shameful. If he believes what he’s saying it’s easy to see why he was sacked at Wigan and Chesterfield. A joke.

I’m not saying Rangers aren’t decent or don’t have ok players & on their day can’t beat Celtic & obviously have done. But not one would get in my best Celtic 11. I’d challenge anyone to say who would.

Seriously!! Sportsound actually is the most ill informed sports shows ever. This is The Rangers version of the Love Boat, it’s an insult to intelligence. As for Caldwell , it just goes to show he has learned nothing in his career and is still a halfwit

How can he get away with saying that without Celtic being in the studio to defend themselves from that utterly ridiculous piece of nonsense ?
Laughable and proof that the thought of 9 is beginning to hurt.

Wouldn’t say they where better on the 29th Celtic missed a pen and had 2 cleared off the line pic.twitter.com/2soixW9PHL

Thrill a minute with those 2 on.
I usually listen to the podcast, but I’ll pass.
Bring back @mstewart_23 please.— C J Robertson (@CJR0bertson) February 17, 2020
It was more difficult to win a league when that clown was a centre back ?

Just make sure your pundits don’t say anything that might offend Jim Traynor. We can’t have that can we? ‘It goes against your policy’

The only player of theirs I would let in my team would be Barisic. The rest could pick up rubbish in the car park or something.

It’s one thing being controversial and it’s another talking absolute bollocks
