Steven Gerrard turned on ‘schoolboy defenders’ after watching his side’s title hopes suffer a massive set-back by losing 2-1 at Kilmarnock tonight.

Leading by a first half glory goal from Scotty Arfield the roof fell in late on with Stephen O’Donnell equalising in the 77th minute followed by a winner from Eamonn Brophy in the 88th minute.

After going into the winter break two points behind Celtic the Ibrox challenge has wilted with eight points dropped while Neil Lennon’s side have a 100% record.

The tide is turning against Gerrard with supporters growing tired of criticism of the players that he bought and selects.

New boy Ianis Hagi was posted missing while substitutes Greg Stewart and Flo Kamberi were barely noticed after being pushed into action.

On Saturday Livingston visit Ibrox, anything less than full points will pile more pressure onto Gerrard with Celtic in action the following day away to Aberdeen.
