The football news agenda of BBC Scotland has never been clearer.

Looking across the newspapers this morning for their website they decide which stories deserve coverage.

A Scotland international squad is being speculated on, there is a Europa League tie tomorrow night and a Glasgow derby at the weekend to fill the back pages.

Tonight St Mirren play Hearts in a critical match at the bottom of the SPFL that will be given live radio commentary by the BBC.

Faced with all of these options the most newsworthy story for the BBC website is another moonbeam from Ibrox- the £20m coming in from mystery investors.

The Sun doesn’t need to justify this story to anyone, they’ll be comfortable with the detail but by reproducing it the BBC are giving it credibility. Or, the story is further eroding the fading credibility of the BBC.

Detail of the ‘mystery investors’ is paper thing. Are we to believe that in the next 20 days a prospectus will be published with £20m incoming to dilute existing shareholdings including the current directors?

With their vast resources the state broadcaster should be looking into the Going Concern warning in the 2019 accounts and finding out where the club stands in their on-going legal battles with Sports Direct, Hummel/Elite and Memorial Gardens. Plus, the Wi-Fi company!
