Tory MP and SFA assistant referee Douglas Ross could be Scottish football’s first victim of the Coronavirus.

Last night Tory Health Minister Nadine Dorries revealed that she had caught the virus, spreading concerns throughout Westminster.

Dorries has been in the House of Commons since contacting the virus and attended a reception at 10 Downing Street last Thursday with PM Boris Johnson.

Following UK Government advice, as well as washing your hands regularly, anyone who has been in contact with Dorries should go into a period of self-isolation.

Arsenal players and officials are doing that after making contact with Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis a fortnight ago following the Europa League clash between the clubs. On the back of that tonight’s match between Manchester City and Arsenal has been postponed.

Following the same procedure Ross should go into self-isolation, failing that the SFA should excuse him of future match appointments. Ross is scheduled to be an assistant to John Beaton at Sunday’s Glasgow derby.

Video Celts hopes that Mr Ross is in good health, has avoided the Coronavirus and continues to serve his constituents to the best of his ability.
