Despite the wishful thinking of many Ibrox fans the SPFL has no plans to declare the 2019/20 season Null and Void.
With the challenge from Steven Gerrard’s side for the title falling by the wayside Celtic are massive odds-on to lift the title with a 13 point lead with just eight matches left to play.
There is no precedent for the suspension of football but any attempt to declare the past seven months as meaningless would be met with a storm of protests followed by court actions. As the SPFL admitted earlier this week they aren’t sitting on a massive cash reserve to deal with a rainy day.
Don’t know how it ends. But SPFL / SFA have no plans to void the current season.

Null and void.
Only fair outcome if it happens.
There’s too many possibilities and Celtic are still mathematically catchable.
Also can’t relegate any teams if they do.

I think UEFA will be under pressure from all European leagues to cancel the Euro’s.
So that each and every domestic league can be resumed and closed out as planned— Gazzarinho (@gazzarinho1) March 13, 2020
As well as deciding the Champion Club the SPFL has European places and promotion/relegation matters to deal with. Dundee United and Hearts have a strong interest in ensuring that this season is completed.
Whenever football resumes there will be no option but to complete the 2019/20 league season, any attempt at anything else is riddled with problems.
As they did today the SPFL will almost certainly repeat whatever they do in England.
Under no circumstances will Liverpool be denied their first title in 30 years- with Leeds United, West Brom and others battling for the guaranteed £200m that comes with a place in next season’s EPL.
There are no rules for the current scenario but no-one will be wiping out 30 months of hard graft from Neil Lennon’s side to take Celtic to within touching distance of a ninth successive title.
