St Mirren have become the first SPFL club to comment on the possibility that the current season may not be completed.
Jim Goodwin’s side enjoyed a 1-0 win over Hearts on March 11 in what could be the final match of the 2019/20 season.
Two days later the Joint Response Group announced the suspension of the league season with no indication of when the final eight rounds of fixtures will be completed.
Hearts and Aberdeen have already highlighted the financial difficulties that they are facing but St Mirren seem to be on a sounder footing as they stated today on the club website:
The vast majority of fans getting in touch with us have said they do not want any money back from this years’ season tickets should the season not be played to a conclusion, and all at the club hugely appreciate your loyalty and support at this difficult time.
However we feel the least we can do is offer something back, so we would like to offer all current season ticket holders entry to one league cup game and one pre-season friendly free of charge next year in return for not getting any compensation this year’s season ticket.
We are aware that some clubs have already put season tickets on sale but we would prefer to wait for a bit more clarity before making a decision on a release date. We can assure you that there will be no increase in prices next season unless the situation changes dramatically.
The win over Hearts lifted Saints into fourth bottom place in the Premiership table, six points above the Edinburgh side.

Last season the Paisley side stayed in the top flight thanks to a penalty shoot out win over Dundee United in the Play Off Final but as things stand they would avoid a repeat of that fate.
