Moi Elyounoussi is facing another spell on the side-lines after picking up a hamstring injury in training yesterday.

The on-loan winger started the Europa League tie against Copenhagen after just two starting appearances in almost three months due to a foot injury.

Elyounoussi looked dangerous during the first half against the Danes but was substituted midway through the second period as Celtic’s European interest came to a halt.

Celtic returned to a 3-5-2 formation for the Scottish Cup win over St Johnstone with Jozo Simunovic, Elyounoussi and Tom Rogic dropping out of the starting XI.

The Sun reports:

Speaking about the changes, Lennon told BBC Sportsound: “Jozo is out with a knee problem. Elyounoussi picked up a hamstring strain yesterday, so he didn’t make it. Ryan’s been playing very well so it’s good to get him back into the team.”

St Johnstone held out for 80 minutes against Celtic before a dangerous in-swinging free kick from Ryan Christie found the back of the net.

It was a tough punishing match for the hoops coming just three days after the disappointment of being knocked out of the Europa League.

Straight after the match Celtic were drawn to play Aberdeen in the semi-final with Hearts and Hibs facing each other in the other tie.
