Michael Stewart returned to the airwaves of Radio Scotland last night- more than four weeks after being suspended for criticism of James Traynor.

With Alfredo Morelos in the headlines off the park at the start of February the former Hearts midfielder linked the stories to the work of the Ibrox PR consultant.

That simple logic kicked off an incredible chain of events with an on-air apology on Sportsound the following night while Stewart was suspended by the state broadcaster.

After a couple of appearances on Sportscene the best pundit in Scotland was back on the radio for a dramatic night of action at the top of the SPFL table.

Reflecting on the current position at Ibrox Stewart told the BBC:

You look at some of Rangers’ results at the start of the season. Some of the top sides went to Ibrox and they were demolished. They struggled against Stranraer in the cup and on the back of that, they have found it difficult to break teams drown. It is a big concern with no obvious answer

Celtic were pushed all the way by Livingston with a stoppage time goal from Tom Rogic salvaging a point.

With Hamilton winning at Ibrox Neil Lennon’s side are 13 points clear with nine matches left to play, if the hoops beat St Mirren on Saturday Steven Gerrard’s side will kick off Sunday’s match at Ross County trailing by 16 points.
