After watching his side crash out of the Scottish Cup on Saturday Steven Gerrard probably thought that things couldn’t get any worse.
A few days of reflection and a look at the up-coming fixtures against Hamilton Accies and Ross County raised his spirits enough to face the media on Tuesday as if nothing much had been said after the defeat at Tynecastle.
‘All In’ was the phrase from the media conference as he was able to forget for 15 minutes his squad of serial losers led by James Tavernier.
The build up to facing Hamilton was full of triumphalism as Flo Kamberi and Alfredo Morelos led the club into the run-in for the league title which includes two matches against leaders Celtic (six point swing).
And then after 56 minutes Colin Moyo scored with one of the scrappiest goals you’ll ever see and it all turned sour, the pain of the last six weeks turned Ibrox toxic.
Suddenly Gerrard was back at Tynecastle again, that dark place 200 miles north of Anfield as every aspect of his management is called out before kick off time at Ross County on Sunday- we go again!
