Charlie Nicholas is tipping an away win in Sunday’s Glasgow derby.

The Sky Sports pundit has become notorious for trying to find a cloud on every silver lining with constant criticism of all things Celtic.

Since the last meeting of the two clubs Celtic have stretched their lead at the top of the table by 11 points with Neil Lennon’s side also enjoying a goal difference advantage of 25 over their city rivals.

Despite the hype and spin Celtic have actually won two of this season’s three derby matches with Nicholas expecting that impressive stat to be extended on Sunday.

Covering his column in The Express the Daily Record reports:

Rangers might be up for a fight but I also reckon Celtic will be prepared to battle their way to victory.

Celtic are tough, while Odsonne Edouard is a class act and Leigh Griffiths is scoring goals for fun. It’s hard for manager Neil Lennon to leave him out the starting XI.

The fact Rangers are also coming off the back of a tough Europa League game against Bayer Leverkusen, I’d back Celtic to come away with a win and widen the gap at the top of the table.

An in-form Leigh Griffiths has added to Lennon’s options with Celtic averaging more than three goals a game in domestic matches since the turn of the year.

Last season all four Derby matches were won by the home team but so far this season the SPFL matches have resulted in away wins with Celtic coming out on top in the League Cup Final at Hampden.
