Every Saturday afternoon BBC Sportsound sit around and promote the agenda of their silent partners from Ibrox. What they actually want no-one will say but their new Communications Manager is certainly ensuring that as much disarray as possible is created in the Scottish game.

Two weeks ago Scot Gardiner was selectively releasing details of his WhatsApp chats, almost as soon as he was off-air Douglas Park was calling for the suspension of Neil Doncaster and Murdoch MacLennan based on the evidence of a mystery whistle blower.

Last Saturday Ann Budge and Dave Cormack were sweet talked into requesting an independent enquiry as demanded by the Ibrox club. Neither Aberdeen or Hearts formally requested another enquiry to the SPFL during the week.

Today the state broadcaster sought out the views of Gregory Campbell, an MP in Northern Ireland for the DUP. A party that has outlived its time, with views and policies that should have been quietly ditched a century or so ago.

In midweek Campbell created at Early Day Motion in the UK Parliament.

Nothing of his background was discussed prior to the interview, he had no evidence just rumours on social media.

Presenter Richard Gordon didn’t extract a single detail from Campbell, he wasn’t asked about his overall interest in the Scottish game, his thoughts on league reconstruction or Partick Thistle’s relegation.

Michael Stewart’s suspension earlier this season highlighted the dark forces at work within the state broadcaster’s Glasgow branch office, Sportsound today confirmed that those policies are growing in power within BBC Scotland.
