You never forget your first title win- for Scott Brown there was a whirlwind of emotions as Celtic dramatically clinched the 2007/08 title at Tannadice.

The previous summer the midfielder moved from Hibs to Celtic in a £4.4m after being tipped to join his team-mate Kevin Thomson at Ibrox.

It was a dramatic season on the park as Celtic reeled off seven wins on the bounce to take the title to the final day- a Thursday night as the SPL bent over backwards to accommodate Walter Smith’s Euro heroes.

Brown had dropped out of the Celtic side but had bigger issues on his mind than Barry Robson and Paul Hartley forming a winning partnership in central midfielder.

Throughout his debut season his sister Fiona was battling cancer, she died in May 2008 the same month that Tommy Burns lost his battle with cancer. No publicity was made of Fiona’s illness until after her death.

The Fifer has picked up another eight league winners medals, he is close to a tenth but no-one will ever understand the turmoil he was going through as Celtic clinched the 2008 title at Tannadice thanks to Jan Venegoor’s headeR.

The Tannadice title clincher was shown today on Celtic’s You Tube channel.
