Michael Stewart chose his words carefully when a surprise and unannounced guest was on Sportsound today.
At the start of the show presenter Richard Gordon mentioned who would be on the show alongside guest pundits Stewart, Pat Bonner and Tom English.
For the third week running the show opened by cheerleading the latest statement from Ibrox. Probing and slamming the SPFL at every turn while in passing mentioning that the Ibrox club hadn’t produced any evidence a full fortnight after announcing that they had a whistle-blower. Scot Gardiner wasn’t on today’s show.
Thanks to ‘some’ contributors on @BBCSportsound this afternoon. Thought Jim Duffy, @ABevington11, @iainmcmenemy, Graham Tatters, Paul Hegarty, Mo Malpas and Eric Black were great. Not to forget Richard Gordon, @TEnglishSport Packie Bonner and Willie Miller ? ?? ???????

Were you not made aware that Mr Campbell would be appearing on the show ?
How can @TEnglishSport say there aren’t enough thinkers in the Scottish game and yet participate in a show where Campbell is an invited guest ?

With no build up Gordon brought in Gregory Campbell of the DUP who had raised an Early Day Motion in the UK Parliament in midweek.
None of Campbell’s background was questioned, his interest in Scottish football doesn’t seem to extent beyond Ibrox. He wasn’t even asked about the club’s much praised diversity programme of ‘Everyone, Anyone’.
Campbell wasn’t brought into the debate with anyone other than Gordon, in the brief follow up Stewart told Gordon that he had no idea why the man from the DUP was brought into the programme.
