Craig Brown believes that there are two good reasons for Celtic being SPFL champions- they have better players and better resources.

Those qualifies have allowed Neil Lennon’s side to build up a 13 point lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership with just eight matches left to play.

The hoops have dropped 10 points after 30 matches despite already playing twice away to Motherwell, Aberdeen and Livingston. None of the sides currently in the top six have been to Celtic Park for a second fixture.

It seems almost a formality for Celtic to wrap up the league with Brown applying some common sense to the issues created by the suspension announced on March 13.

The former Scotland boss and current Aberdeen director told the Glasgow Times:

I think we need to play out the games as if it was the end of the season. I think for fairness this would be the best way.

Nobody could complain if, when we get the clearance to play, we take the next fixture on the schedule.

There’s obviously complications with players out of contract and such like, but I think you have to complete the fixtures with the players you have. Whatever resources you have at the time you use, it’ll be the same for everyone.

Rangers think they can make up the 13 point gap to Celtic, but I don’t think it’s possible. You have to keep positive, but in a few short months they lost a very good position.

It could happen the other way around but it looks less likely with Celtic having better resources and better players. So I don’t think it is possible, but I am quite sure even if you are a Celtic fan you would want to finish the league and win it properly and honourably.

SPFL Premiership clubs will host a conference call later today to discuss recent developments with UEFA and Belgium but no decision is expected on how to complete the 2019/20 season.
