All through the morning they were waiting for a statement.

On Saturday afternoon Douglas Park had given them hope with a call for the suspension of Neil Doncaster and SPFL legal adviser Rod McKenzie with evidence from ‘a whistle-blower’.

SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan called Park out, he asked for the evidence from the whistle-blower, to date there has been no further comment from the motoring multi-millionaire.

The backdrop was the vote of Dundee which was lost in the ether. The Premiership clubs voted in favour of the SPFL board proposal as did the combined League One and Two. Everything boiled down to how Dundee would vote.

Last night the Daily Record broke the story that Dundee would be voting yes. The three lower divisions would be settled based on average points won per game upto the suspension on March 13.

The same solution will be applied to The Premiership once UEFA gives instruction. A ninth Celtic title is now inevitable, all that Ibrox fans had to cling to was a statement, one that mentioned the evidence held by Mr Park.

Instead at 9.30 they got this:

RANGERS Football Club contract with Ladbrokes as a provider of in-stadia betting services will come to an end in advance of next Season 2020/2021.

Director of Commercial & Marketing, James Bisgrove, commented “Following a number of supporter enquiries over the Easter weekend, we can confirm the arrangement with Ladbrokes, who provide betting facilities at Ibrox stadium, will not continue next season.”

In anticipation of our 150th anniversary, Rangers will continue to grow its Commercial Partnerships programme, both domestically and internationally.

Another company deserting Ibrox, three lines.

It’s believed that the board of the SPFL will meet later on today, if Dundee has voted Yes the business of the three lower divisions and prize money can be dealt with.

If another day passes without Mr Park producing the evidence from his whistle blower questions may start to be asked about the leadership of a man who still has a significant share-holding in Hamilton Accies.
