Ally McCoist has been fanning the flames of paranoia by discussing rumours of ‘high profile’ friendlies being offered to Dundee in order to change their mind on the vote from the board of the SPFL.

The suggestion came from the darkest corners of Ibrox social media as they realised that Celtic’s 13 point advantage at the top of the Premiership is getting closer to being confirmed as a title success.

McCoist has a long history of stoking anger while keeping a safe distance away. In 2012 an SFA committee copped out of suspending the old Rangers club for rule breaks short only of match fixing. With Ibrox directors sitting in on the hearing the then club manager started a witch hunt with his ‘Who are these people’ request at a media conference.

In 2013 when Ian Black was found guilty of betting on football matches, including his own team McCoist waved sheets of paper listing the names of players and officials that he knew were betting on football matches. The list was never forwarded to the SFA or SPL.

Picking up on the paranoia and gossip on social media McCoist decided to legitimise the claims by discussing them on TalkSPORT knowing that his comments would be picked up by the Daily Record.

I’m reading in the Scottish press that Dundee – who cast their vote and rejected the proposal – are now thinking of changing their mind.

Now, for some reason, it wasn’t registered in time at the SPFL. Seemingly, they had a problem with their IT system.

Now, I just wonder – and call me an old cynic – why Dundee are changing their mind?

I’m reading in one of the papers they’ve been offered high profile friendlies against Premiership teams, and they’ve also been subjected to lobbying from other clubs.

Well, let’s ask the question – who’s offered them high profile friendlies? Let’s find out, ask the question. It’s an absolute shambles. It’s a can of worms and it’s an ongoing debacle

McCoist might also have read in the Scottish press about the evidence given to Douglas Park by a whistle-blower. Perhaps the Lanarkshire car salesmen could produce the evidence rather than do a McCoist and only talk about it.
