Keith Jackson has delivered a sharp put down to his Daily Record colleagues lobbying for a Null & Void resolution to the current SPFL season.

Other than the ramblings of Alex Rae in the middle of Marc virtually nothing had been hard of the bizarre notion till the Daily Record went big on it yesterday.

Attempting to justify scrubbing 30 rounds of fixtures from the record book rather than call a halt with eight matches left to play requires some incredible gymnastics.

Jackson opted not to chalk his hands up and get on the Parallel Bars.

Many fans suspect that Null & Void is the goal behind all the anger and statements coming out of Ibrox.

After a three or four month break what sort of motivation will Steven Gerrard’s squad have for overhauling a 13-point lead? Having watched that develop from two points at the end of January it would be easy to say ‘haven’t they been punished enough’ if the 2019/20 season was to resume in August.

Null & Void might provide a solution to ‘Stoap Sellik’ but won’t be looked on kindly by UEFA. No European places for next season with this season’s co-efficient points scrubbed would be quite a sobering thought to contemplate as the price for delaying 9-in-a-row.
