Oli McBurnie has revealed that some of Steven Gerrard’s players can’t handle the pressures of the club.

The Sheffield United super-sub has cultivated the image of a celebrity fan but other than a Petrofac Cup win over Peterhead has had no trophies to celebrate since he became a professional.

Tagging along with Allan McGregor on holiday is about as good as it gets for McBurnie alongside attempts to troll Celtic fans on social media.

While the hoops have racked up 10 consecutive domestic trophies the Scotland striker is starting to dread his trips to Glasgow for fresh disappointments.

Picking up on his Open Goal interview The Sun reports:

“I’ve been up for the semi-finals, even the game against Aberdeen we got beat. I think the last four games I’ve been to we got beat so I might hold off and stay away for a bit.”

When asked if he ever drops into the Louden Tavern for a pint, McBurnie laughed: “No, I can’t really. I get mobbed man.

“When I’m up there, and I’ve never played for Celtic or Rangers, I get mobbed. So then I’m thinking imagine what it would be like for the boys who do play for them.

“Even when I’ve spoke to the boys who have played for them they say it gets a bit much for them.”

After losing the League Cup Final to Celtic in December Ryan Jack broke down in tears before being consoled by serial loser James Tavernier.

Since starting out as a professional in football more than 20 years ago Steven Gerrard has still to win a league title. This season Scott Brown is closing in on his 10th title win.
