Scottish rock band Primal Scream provided a throwback to the seventies as they prepared for Celtic’s second 9-in-a-row.
Through the first half of the seventies Billy McNeill and Jock Stein led Celtic to nine successive titles while winning one European Cup, appearing in another final and losing out in two semi-finals.
It was a golden age for the club and Scottish football, one that is unlikely to be experienced again but the current crop are creating their own magic as Primal Scream acknowledge in a tweet yesterday.
Oh oh oh it’s magic you know, gonna be 9 in a row ? https://t.co/7266R3J5sU

Up until March 13 Neil Lennon’s side were closing in on a fourth treble. In December they won their tenth successive trophy, a run stretching back to November 2016 when Aberdeen were beaten in the final of the Betfred Cup.
There won’t be any football played in Scotland before June 10, whenever it gets back underway Primal Scream and thousands of other Celtic fans will celebrate more than ever.
