Scott Brown called out Neil McCann live on Sportsound today- asking him to take off his Rangers top while discussing the outcome to the SPFL Premiership.

The Celtic skipper was a guest on the lunchtime show on Radio Scotland today when they started to discuss the outcome of the current season.

Naturally Brown wanted to see the season completed, to extend on the 13 point lead that the hoops have built up over the course of 30 matches.

The board of the SPFL have permission to call the season based on average points per game but Brown doesn’t want any pundit to be able to question the 2019/20 title.

Neil McCann was sacked by Dundee last season with the Dark Blues heading for relegation, Brown didn’t miss him when they met on the airwaves today:

CHICK YOUNG: So you are saying if at all possible you want to play out the season?

SCOTT BROWN: Yes, if at all possible. We want to extend our lead, show how well we can play and give something back to the fans for supporting us throughout the year, we want that 9-in-a-row, we want to play as many games as we possibly can but for me, ‘Do I see us playing all the games with what’s going on just now?’ I can’t see the games being played but you never know

BBC Presenter David Currie: Do you feel Scott that the glory would be diminished if the league wasn’t able to be finished and Celtic were crowned champions?

BROWN: No, not for us, we are 13 points clear, we’ve got a great goal difference with eight games to play. Can any of you see us being caught?

No, No, No (voices heard in the background)

CURRIE: We’ll cross to ex-Rangers player Neil McCann

BROWN: Come on Neilly, give us that shout. Take that Rangers strip off

MCCANN: Is that the one that you used to wear as well, Me and Scott used to be neighbours, we are all right. I don’t think that anyone can argue that Celtic were well on track to win the title, I think that there was a stark difference in how the two teams came back from Dubai, both teams didn’t come back. One came back that had just poked the bear, I think Celtic have shown that they are able to usurp them, Rangers haven’t been able to find that consistency again. I don’t think that anyone would argue that Celtic would go on and win the title. I’m in agreement with that.

It’s understood that while growing up in Port Glasgow McCann was a Celtic fan.
