The SPFL has confirmed that Dundee have voted Yes to the proposal to complete the lower three divisions based on the average points per game collected to date.

For five days the vote hung in the balance with the Premiership voting 10-2 in favour, the bottom two divisions 16-4 with the Championship now voting 8-2 in favour. A 75% vote was needed in each category.

Shortly before 6pm tonight The Courier announced that Dundee had submitted a Yes vote with the SPFL announcing the news soon afterwards.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “We’ve achieved the 75 per cent agreement threshold in the Ladbrokes Premiership, Championship and Leagues 1 and 2 and will now be working as quickly as we can to get the end-of-season payments to members in the three lower divisions by the end of this week.”

The SPFL also announced that they will look into league reorganisation for next season but that will require an 11-1 vote from current Premiership clubs.

No decision has been made on the Premiership but the vote and template is in place to award the title on the same basis as the Championship, League One and League Two. Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers are now the champions of their respective divisions.
