Graham Spiers has trashed the reputation of Stewart Robertson by claiming that he is the weakest man he has ever met in football.
Spiers is in virtual semi-retirement with The Times but has been in the broadsheet newspaper business for 30 years, making his name at Scotland on Sunday before switching to The Herald.
Robertson is currently doing an impression of the Invisible Man with a place on the board of the SPFL while being the Managing Director at Ibrox.
With statements going back and forward between Hampden and Ibrox Robertson appears to have gone to ground as the May 12 EGM approaches.
Rangers may well have a case of wrongdoing at #SPFL. But I hope this isn’t another case of MD Stewart Robertson – the weakest man I ever met in football – playing to fans’ feelings of anti-Rangers conspiracy.
The sort of stuff the pre RFC Stewart Robertson would view as absurd. pic.twitter.com/JpIGWqzQO5— Graham Spiers (@GrahamSpiers) April 28, 2020
Dave King appointed Robertson as Managing Director in June 2015 believing that his stint on the board of Motherwell would help him to influence Scottish football.
The quietly spoken accountant has taken a back seat in virtually everything that he has done in his career with King and now Douglas Park the main weapons of attack supported by the Ibrox PR machine.
