Harry Redknapp says that Celtic are deserved Premiership champions regardless of what any critics have to say.

The former Spurs boss still keeps a keen eye on the game with his son Jamie a regular on Sky Sports while his nephew, Frank Lampard, is the leading English manager with Chelsea sitting in third place in the EPL.

Promoting and developing young English manager is a passion for Redknapp but as he watches Steven Gerrard at Ibrox he realises that the Liverpool legend is going to come off second best.

Neil Lennon has called on a decade of experience to take Celtic 13 points clear at the top of the Premiership with Redknapp in no doubt about the best side in Scotland.

He told The Sun:

I watched them batter Celtic in the League Cup final but lose, and then I also saw them win well at Celtic Park. I thought then the league would go all the way to the wire.

Now, though, it’s Celtic’s title. I don’t care what anyone says. Yes, I know Stevie hasn’t won anything so far but people should not underestimate him.

There are so many examples of great players not becoming great managers. I go as far back as Bobby Charlton. It didn’t work out either for Bobby Moore, but he never really got a chance. Stevie will be different, though.

The first half of this season Rangers were looking very good. I don’t know what happened, if anything, during the winter break in Dubai for things to go so badly.

Celtic went into the winter break with a two point lead at the top of the Premiership, ten games later the lead was stretched to 13 points when the season was suspended.

Yesterday UEFA announced that each association will have to provide them with their end of season solution on May 25.
