UEFA will host a video conference tomorrow with all 55 member associations as thoughts turn towards when football can resume.

Clubs in Germany and Denmark are already planning a return to training even though there is no schedule for matches to begin, whether this seasons remaining games or in preparation for next season.

Keeping the UEFA calendar in place looks to be a major task with different conditions applying in each country.

This seasons Champions League and Europa League’s are locked at the last 16 with the first qualifiers for next season originally scheduled for mid July.

Covering this weeks’ events BBC reports:

Uefa is still hoping to complete its own tournaments in the normal two-legged format. However, there is an understanding that it may not be possible, so one-off games, and a week-long mini-tournament from the quarter-finals onwards for both the Champions League and Europa League, have also been discussed.

Tuesday’s meeting will be followed on Thursday by a meeting of the Uefa executive committee.

That is expected to provide an update on the Womens’ European Championship and the Nations League, both of which have been moved to allow Euro 2020 to take place a year later than scheduled, plus plans to relax financial regulations this season.

UEFA is expected to come under pressure to allow individual associations to call a halt on this season’s competitions with nominated teams going forward to the Champions League and Europa League.

The SPFL has been given approval by more than 80% of clubs to decide the current season based on average points per game, that will confirm Celtic as champions for the ninth season running.
