Celtic are sitting on around £40,000 of ticket money from the March Glasgow derby.

Forty-eight hours before the Ibrox clash was due to be played football in Scotland was suspended with the derby match the first victim.

Around 800 Celtic fans had been allocated tickets at £49 each but Celtic have held on to the money rather than transfer it over to their city rivals.

If the match can’t be played the Celtic fans who bought tickets, which could become something of a collectors item, will get a refund.

With it looking increasingly likely that the 2019/20 season won’t be completed clubs are left in an awkward position with four or five matches remaining on their season tickets.

Supporters are sympathetic to the plight of their clubs but for more Celtic fans they will be entitled to a refund of around £100.

Season Ticket sales for next season are going on with a low profile, by May 25 it is expected that a decision will be announced on the current season with the SPFL board having a mandate to declare Celtic as champions.
