Across social media today a Celtic fan decided to share the Ibrox optimism of 2018 where a group of well spoken Ibrox fans all declared that Steven Gerrard was the man to stop Celtic!

His mission wasn’t especially to bring success to the club paying his wages but a much more basic requirement, to stop the winning run across the city from reaching eight, nine and the dreaded ten.

Some well-spoken figures in Ibrox social media were joined by Andy Newport of the Press Association and Tom Miller from Banter TV as they discussed the cocktail of astonishment and excitement of appointing a rookie manager.

Much the same was heard about Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha but this time it was going to be different, apparently.

Two years later Gerrard has put a smile on supporters faces, brought back the feel-good factor and restored pride but not a single dent has been made on the Celtic trophy room.

Almost 30 players have been signed, most of them won’t be involved again next season with Alfredo Morelos, James Tavernier and Ryan Jack expected to be the backbone of next season’s challenge. Like their manager all three ae serial losers.

During the video The Banter Years are spoken about as if it is a chapter closed, with nine-in-a-row being celebrated alongside 160 flats on the iconic Car Park there looks to be plenty of chapters still to complete as Glasgow remains Green and White.
