According to a report in The Sun there are NO plans for a Premiership conference call today.

It was widely reported this morning that there would be a Zoom call at 4pm involving the top 12 clubs plus promoted Dundee United.

With league reconstruction off the menu and no follow up to Tuesday’s EGM the only issue up for debate is drawing a line under the 2019/20 season and dishing out £7m of prize money.

The prize money has already been dished out to the clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two with Celtic in line for the top pay out as Premiership winners. Over 80% of the 42 SPFL clubs voted to decide the season based on average points per game.

At 4.17 today The Sun reported:

But as of yet no SPFL board meeting has been convened for this afternoon or evening – meaning that an official announcement of the title is likely to wait until Monday. Dundee United’s promotion as champions of Scotland’s second tier has already been rubber stamped.

UEFA has set a deadline of May 25 for national associations to nominate clubs for next seasons Champions League and Europa League.

Where the season can’t be completed UEFA will make allowances for special cases with Paris Saint Germain getting the title based on the final positions after 29 rounds of fixtures.

In Scotland Celtic are 13 points clear with just eight matches left to play.
