One week after their farewell to Scottish football BT Sport will be back on Saturday with a special tribute to Celtic’s 9-in-a-row success. Alex Rae and Ally McCoist won’t be involved.

The broadcasters deal for SPFL is now over but they can look back on the last nine years during which they gave the domestic game the most detailed and comprehensive coverage that it has known in a decade.

Sutton has been the star of the show, not afraid to be highly critical of Ronny Deila then witnessing the transformation under Brendan Rodgers as 9-in-a-row picked up momentum.

Various revolutions emerged from Ibrox but none were able to walk the walk as Celtic proved that they had the character of champions as well as the ability to see off the challengers.

The winning run started off away to Hibs in 2011, survived turbulence at Kilmarnock to salvage a point from being 3-0 down then returned to Ayrshire later in the season to seal the first of nine.

There is still at least one chapter to complete, Sky Sports will cover that with BT Sport only having access to next season’s European matches.
