BT Sport’s coverage of SPFL football might be over but Chris Sutton remains the go-to pundit in the Scottish game with his twitter time line overflowing this afternoon.

The former Celtic striker congratulated his former team-mate Neil Lennon on winning a ninth successive title but some at Ibrox struggle to accept the new norm.

Since 2012 when a lack of support sent their old club into liquidation it has been almost an unbroken run of success for Celtic.

In the next few years there were a few set-backs in cup competitions, at one stage Hampden was considered something of a bogey ground.

Things changed however in 2016. Mark Warburton and Joey Barton arrived on the scene screaming about a fictitious 55 that neither knew the first thing about but if it helped sell season tickets and keep the wages flowing they were both all in.

Today’s success is Celtic’s 11th domestic trophy on the bounce, an achievement never seen before by any Scottish club. The Gerrard Express has gone the same way as Warbo and the Caixinha Revolution.

Sutton sat back to enjoy the in-coming as he has for years. This time next year could be awesome!
