Celtic appear to be in line for a massive transfer boost with a return deal for Fraser Forster predicted in the Daily Mail.

The keeper signed for Celtic, and Neil Lennon, for a fourth time last August and played a massive part in securing a ninth successive title and fourth League Cup in a row.

Forster’s return helped Chris Jullien settle in at the club where his partnership with Kris Ajer was one of the key features of the season.

The keeper missed more than a year of first team football but despite having two years to run on his Southampton deal appears to have made it clear that playing top team football is more important than running down the contract he signed in 2017.

The Sun reports:

The Daily Mail say Forster’s future will be clarified in the next 48-hours with the Parkhead club hopeful they can secure another loan deal for the Saints goalkeeper who has two-years left on his current deal on the south coast. The ex-England international was a revelation after returning to Celtic last season.

Forster’s return would almost certainly spell the end of the road for Craig Gordon who is out of contract this month.

In October Scott Bain extended his Celtic contract, taking his commitment to Celtic through until June 2023.
