A tweet by Ewen Murray of the Guardian has claimed that there will be a cap on the number of virtual season tickets that SPFL clubs will be able to sell.

With next season certain to start off Behind Closed Doors clubs are dependent on some sort of incentive to get fans to pay for season tickets with no known date for when they will be able to attend games.

Selling a stream for individual games would also give clubs the opportunity to raise additional finance with a season ticket impractical on a number of levels for many fans.

How the scheme is operated will be critical but it’s fair to assume that the cost of a full season ticket is beyond the reach of many supporters with so many unknowns.

On any given Saturday when Celtic are at home there is a massive demand on social media for links to illegal streams, turning that demand into an income source would go a long way to plugging the gap expected in finances for the season ahead.
