Odsonne Edouard has sent a Mother’s Day message to his proud mere back in France.

French mums were celebrated yesterday with Odsonne sharing an image that looks about 10 years old from the back garden complete with some trophies from that spell in his career.

These days Edouard is 700 miles north of Paris with some more familiar trophies to his name- alongwith the hopes and adulation of the Celtic support.

Edouard joined the Paris Saint Germain Academy in 2011 and was quickly making his name playing above his own age level.

His first international appearances came at u-17 level for France but a loan spell at Toulouse in 2016/17 didn’t work out as planned.

The following season he went on loan to Celtic as third choice behind Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths but did enough to earn a £9m permanent deal in June 2018, since then he has been Celtic’s first choice striker.

With his contract running until June 2022 Celtic fans are hoping that their French favourite will be around for at least another year as Neil Lennon’s side chase their 10th successive title.
