Marion Shved is reported to be a loan target for his former club Karpaty Lviv.

The 22-year-old winger was signed at the end of January but was quickly loaned back to Karpaty with Neil Lennon taking over from Brendan Rodgers by the time Shved returned for pre-season training.

After playing in the pre-season friendlies in Austria and Switzerland all looked promising for Shved when he came on as a substitute to score against Karpaty Lviv in a Champions League qualifier.

That failed to ignite his Celtic career with just two brief substitute appearances before the season ended amid social media claims that he was struggling to adapt and spoke virtually no English.

The Sun reports:

MARIAN SHVED is a loan target for former club Karpaty Lviv — if Neil Lennon lets him go.

The Celtic winger played just three times last term as he struggled to adjust to Scottish football.

Ukrainian Shved reports back to training this week as he looks to make his mark with the Hoops but Karpaty are on standby to take the 22-year-old back home if Lennon sanctions a loan deal this summer.

Oleksandriya are also chasing Shved, but he has insisted he’ll only return to his boyhood club.

Shved is under contract with Celtic until June 2023 but after failing to make any impact during a full season at the club it is hard to see his prospects improving.

Lennon is likely to be looking to bring in some of his own signings with the wide positions likely to be a priority with Scott Sinclair, Jonny Hayes and MMoi Elyounoussi no longer available.
