The Leicester Honeymoon is well and truly over for Brendan Rodgers after today’s gutless 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup.
Four wins in their last 15 matches is a grim record with two of those victories coming in the FA Cup which came to a halt against Frank Lampard’s side this afternoon.
Second place behind Liverpool at Christmas seems a lifetime ago for Leicester fans who have started to compare Rodgers with the duller than dull Claude Puel who was forced out last February to make way for the Incredible Ego.
There is no denying that the former Celtic boss gave the club a lift and a highly impressive first half of the season. His vanity and arrogance have been sussed out by opposing managers but more importantly it seems that the Leicester players are seeing straight through the Rodgers Myth.
Constant stories of his own brilliance won’t last long in a dressing room where many of the players are picking up £100,000/week. Leicester players will also have contacts at Celtic and Liverpool who’ll be happy to share stories of what their gaffer is like when the cameras switch off.
With the FA Cup over Rodgers can ‘concentrate on the league’ where Chelsea are just one point away from leapfrogging into third place. Just as worrying is the form of Wolves and Manchester United who are within striking distance of Leicester.
A year after quitting Celtic the garden isn’t quite as rosy as Rodgers would have imagined. The only way is down for the smooth-talking ego as the mask slips to reveal substance far inferior to the image that he likes to portray.
We exit the #FACup at the quarter-final stage.#LeiChe

Awful….toothless, little creativity or goal scoring opportunities…Brendan needs to start earning his money…and sort this form out before we blow European football

I can’t work out what has happened to Tielemans. He was so good when on loan. Everyone seems to have lost some confidence (except Chilwell who had a decentish game but ruined it by laughing at the end).

Starting to think the same…

Pathetic they don’t look fir or even bothered glad Chilwell could still laugh at the final whistle with Ross Barkley which sums the last three games up.

Is the manager going to show any passion or anger? Feels like an old school slide back to mediocrity

Wonder what odds I can get on us not scoring again this season? Probably evens
— Ben Snell (@thecr3ature) June 28, 2020
Another disappointment ? another disappointing performance, the players were clueless today, know how to defend, our offense is offensive to be called that. Thanks Kasper for caring today you’re a legend, the rest go….

Can see us dropping right down into 6th at this rate. United unbeaten in 14 & Wolves playing well. Can’t see where our next 3 points are coming from, we couldn’t even beat Watford nor Brighton?????
