For the third year running Steven Gerrard is trying to drum up interest in star striker Alfredo Morelos.
The Liverpool legend has already been through four transfer windows speculating about the future of the Colombian even though he is still waiting on the first offer to arrive.
Teams are forever keeping tabs, weighing up a bid and showing an interest in Morelos before interest drops with the cycle resuming again a few months later.
Seven red cards in 18 months equal a red flag in transfer terms. Clubs would be wary of a defender with that sort of record, Sergio Ramos doesn’t get close but in a forward it’s a No No.
Two of those red cards have been against Celtic which is the other issue that ensures no club will put in a bid of more than £5m for Alfie. That would represent a decent profit, five times his initial fee, but way too much of a face loser for the Ibrox board.
In three years Morelos hasn’t scored against Celtic. Even Josh Windass and Daniel Candeias have managed a derby day goal but it has evaded the Colombian. Spectacularly.
Scouts and agents will present carefully produced video clips but in the case of Morelos, Google and You Tube most certainly aren’t his friend.
