Celtic fans enjoyed a break from Lockdown as they lapped up Andy Halliday’s title claim.
According to the former Ibrox utility man the club that had dropped 13 points in their previous 10 matches were about to finish the season with nine wins out of nine to deny Celtic nine-in-a-row!
Since Scottish football was suspended on March 13 Steven Gerrard’s squad have improved out of all recognition.
Before play was suspended Gerrard had watched his side lose back-to-back matches against Hearts and Hamilton with club captain James Tavernier telling the match programme that his team-mates struggled to cope with pressure and expectations.
Across the city Celtic’s serial winners were demonstrating the mark of champions, taking 28 points out of 30 on offer in 2020 while reaching the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.
Alex Rae and Ally McCoist have been critical of Celtic’s likely title success since the season was suspended, it looks like Halliday is a new voice with that same message despite failing to stop Celtic from storming to 11 successive domestic trophies.
