Galatasaray are reported to have made an offer to Wolfsberger to sign Shon Weissman.

Celtic were credited with an interest in the striker by The Telegraph but if the report in Turkish publication Fotospor is accurate then the terms on offer in Turkey will be very hard to match.

Weissman took Austrian football by storm in the season just ended, averaging almost a goal a game domestically as well as scoring against Roma and Borussia Monchengladbach in the Europa League.

Wolfsberger signed the 24-year-old for a nominal fee from Macabbi Haifa but only offered a two year contract. If he isn’t sold this summer the clock will tick down rapidly towards the end of his deal and negotiating as a free agent.

Fotospor reports:

Galatasaray ‘s proposal for the Israeli player , who pursues Shon Weissman instead of Radamel Falcao, does not even reach half of the number Falcao has won this season… yellow-red people sent a proposal to Weissman’s club Wolfesberger with the signature of President Mustafa Cengiz. The details in this offer are very interesting.

* 2.4 million euro warranty fee.

* 200 thousand euro after every 10th goal scored by the player. The 1 million euro to be given after the 50th golden will be the maximum fee.

* 100, 200 and 250 thousand euros for the 20th, 40th and 50th games.

* In case Galatasaray participates in the championship and Champions League in the first two years, 100 thousand euros, and in the second year, 250 thousand euros when repeated.

Celtic’s interest in Weissman was reported as a replacement for Odsonne Edouard if an incredible offer came in but with Leigh Griffiths out of contention interest in a new striker could be stepped up.

In the second half of last season Neil Lennon switched to a front two but as things stand the Celtic boss only has two available strikers with Edouard and Patryk Klimala splitting the load against Nice and Lyon.

Celtic have still to make their first signing of the transfer window although Moi Elyounoussi has been secured on another season long loan from Southampton.
