A report from Albania has credited Celtic with an interest in Lindon Selahin.

The Twente midfielder was born in Belgium, starting his career at Standard Liege but is an Albanian internationalist.

Midfield doesn’t seem to be an area of the park that is a transfer priority for Celtic but generally a report of this nature has some substance.

Selahin moved to Twente last summer with a further year on his contract although the club has an option to extend that by another 12 months.

Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham both spent time on the substitute bench last season while January signing Ismaila Soro failed to make any appearances.

So far Celtic haven’t brought in any new signings this summer although a further loan deal has been arranged for Moi Elyounoussi has been completed with Southampton.

Goalkeeping and central defence appear to be the priority but at the age of 21 with experience of Belgian and Dutch football Selahin does fit in with Celtic’s preferred transfer profile.
