One Celtic podcast went completely overboard on the back of the Champions League defeat from Ferencvaros.
Recorded straight after the 2-1 Champions League exit host Harry Brady was understandably angry. What wasn’t understandable was the threatening and abusive comments about Neil Lennon. If you haven’t heard it yet it wasn’t the sort of language that you would hear on mid-morning shows on Radio Scotland.
Lennon has suffered plenty of verbal and physical abuse since moving to Scotland 20 years ago, the last thing that he needs is to get threats from Celtic fans.
No doubt there would have been plenty of swearing and anger in the Celtic dressing room after the match, when Lennon faced the microphones he articulated his feelings using different language.
Fan media and social media is very welcome, it tackles the issues that mainstream broadcasters prefer to dance around and avoid.
Much of Brady’s comments are in line with the views of the bulk of the Celtic support but the level of personal abuse and his complete failure to even mention Peter Lawwell undermines his case and issues.
Neil Lennon’s decisions were poor in my opinion. Criticism is deserved.
He got it wrong, badly.
Ad hominem abuse, however, is beyond the pale & shameful.
Attacking the Celtic manager personally with a vulgar insult, rather than a reasoned debating point does you no credit. https://t.co/JRzvZVploA— Brian McNally (@McNallyMirror) August 29, 2020
Not sure if itunes allow explicit words in podcast titles so;
?? Garbage! ?
The latest podcast is out now. It features @Stephen4_2 and @AntonyMurray25
Be warned – it has expletives and @Stephen4_2 is the most upbeat of the 3! ???https://t.co/TNaT3Sg7hq

Yes, listened to the podcast last night, emotions obviously still raw after the defeat but no need for some of the comments about NL, criticising his attire was a bit petty

Absolutely 100% agree. Some of the abuse towards the manager from people who were probably chanting his name last season is a disgrace.

Yon Brady fella needs a good look in the mirror – his performance was way poorer that that of his target.
