The Sun has ruled Kyle Taylor out as a Celtic transfer target.

At the end of June the striker’s contract at Charlton expired with the 32-year-old opting out of playing after Lockdown to prevent his last big contract being put in doubt by injury.

Taylor had spells at Falkirk and Partick Thistle earlier in his career but despite a claim from Keith Downie of Sky Sports he isn’t in line for another stint north of the border.

The Sun reports:

LYLE TAYLOR is NOT a transfer target for Celtic.

It had been reported earlier today that Neil Lennon was in talks with the striker, who is a free agent after leaving Charlton.

But SunSport understands that is not the case and there is no interest from the Hoops in the hitman.

Taylor scored 10 goals in 17 Championship matches in the season just ended but it’s hardly likely to be the sort of form to improve Celtic.

Neil Lennon has made it known that he is looking to add a forward to his squad with doubts over Patryk Klimala and Leigh Griffiths.

Celtic have been strongly linked with Steven Fletcher, Ivan Toney and Albian Ajeti but with less than two weeks to go until the first round of Champions League qualifying Lennon is bound to step up his efforts to get a striker deal over the line.
