Nicola Sturgeon has stopped short of calling for the SPFL Premiership season to be paused.
But the First Minister has made it clear that she doesn’t expect to see Celtic and Aberdeen playing this week.
The SPFL and SFA were meeting with the Scottish Government this morning with the ball left firmly in the court of the football authorities.
Celtic are scheduled to play St Mirren tomorrow and Aberdeen on Saturday with the Dons due to play Hamilton Accies tomorrow night.
Sturgeon “As a minimum, you should not expect to see Celtic or Aberdeen play over the course of the coming week”.

Chris McLaughlin of BBC Scotland and Raman Bhardwar of STV were first to ask questions after the First Minister made her introduction.
At today’s media conference it was made clear that the Scottish Government don’t want to punish supporters or clubs but equally has contempt for privileged footballers who chose to ignore the rules.
The players at Aberdeen and Boli Bolingoli were singled out at today’s media conference with the onus very much on football to respond and lay down clear rules. Sturgeon mentioned that the next time it will be a red card.
