Some Celtic fans got very emotional at the news that Tom Rogic could be moving on to a club in Qatar.
Two or three years ago it would have been unthinkable to sell the goal-scoring midfielder for £4m but a number of factors kick in to make the deal appeal to all parties.
Even during his best spells there were questions over his fitness, it seemed that he struggled to get past the 70 minute mark on a regular basis.
Having said that half a dozen of those 60-70 minute performances were priceless as he pinged in goals and defence-splitting passes that were beyond most other players over the course of a season.
The Invincible Season saw Rogic at his best, big match goals became routine sealed with the Treble winner against Aberdeen just as a bolt of lightning struck Hampden.
The following season he scored twice at Ibrox and opened the scoring in a 4-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win that won’t be forgotten by Graeme Murty or Andy Halliday.
Over the last two seasons the appearances and match winning interventions have been less frequent, now it seems highly possible that the Rogic Years are about to end with the Australian leaving with a holdall full of memories and medals.

Shame but I’d take 4 million for this guy, sensational at times,ok at times but could he non existent. Scored some of the best and important goals for us, if he goes all the best to him but my boy will be gutted.

Tom came late to eleven a side football, so perhaps he never built up the core body strength of other players.

I like Rogic and I liked Simonovic but I think both of them shared the same ambulance to get to work …

No matter how good anyone is at their place of work, if they are off sick half the year for 7 years running yer employer is gonna get rid of you eventually. On his day he’s unplayable, his day doesn’t arrive enough unfortunately. Would leave with some great memories ?????
