Neil Doncaster and Ian Maxwell have been called to a meeting by the Scottish Government- for the second time in three working days.

Last night the Scottish Sun reported the threat to Pause football after news emerged of Boli Bolingoli taking a trip to Spain and not going into self-isolation.

The action of the player leaves him open to punishment while Celtic’s control over players is also under scrutiny at the same time as they are testing players twice a week and pushing the case for fans to get back to matches.

With the exam fiasco on-going the last thing that the Scottish Government need is to have football saying one thing while players at Aberdeen and Celtic apply their own rules.

The Joint Response Group was set up in March but it seems that there is very little in the way or rules and punishments, just guidelines.

If players knew that they would be suspended without pay for going out in a group of eight for a meal in the city centre or for travelling to a country requiring self-isolation on return their actions would be very different.

Strangely, and with threats hanging over hundreds of their members PFA Scotland haven’t commented on the incidents involving the Aberdeen players, Leigh Griffiths or Bolingoli.
