With the club taking a vow of silence it has again been left to John Paul Taylor to clarify issues.

The movement of Boli Bolingoli shouldn’t fall within the remit of the Supporters Liaison Officer but it was left to JP to clarify one issue.

As news spread of Bolingoli’s trip to Spain some fans suggested that the players had been given four days off from training.

That is incorrect. After playing Hamilton last Sunday the players were given two days off, most working people get two days off a week.

Over the past month the Celtic first team squad had been in Loughborough and France with barely a day off. Getting two days off and preparing from Wednesday onwards for a spell of three games in seven days was very logical.

What is less logical is Celtic’s handling off the Bolingoli incident. One fan on Twitter knew about it on Sunday night, at 9,30pm on Monday The Sun broke the story.

Surely Celtic were aware at some stage on Monday. A statement or announcement at that time would have taken some of the sting out of the issue.

All morning on social media the issue has been discussed. Perhaps Bolingoli has returned two negative tests since his two day break in the sun, perhaps those tests results are wrong. Should the Celtic squad be self-isolating after training alongside Bolingoli last week.

There are lots of questions for Celtic, the SFA and SPFL to answer, so far all that has come out of the club is a tweet correction from the Supporters Liaison Officer.
