Neil Lennon has revealed that Celtic have accepted a bid for Tom Rogic.

The midfielder has made it onto the bench twice this season without getting any minutes and has become more of a peripheral figure since returning injured from the 2019 Asian Cup in the UAE.

Rogic was one of the key figures in Celtic’s Invincible Season, scoring in both cup final wins over Aberdeen as well as regularly finding the net in the Glasgow derbies.

Celtic are well covered for options in midfield but Lennon stressed that David Turnbull isn’t an early replacement for the soon-to-depart Australian.

The Celtic boss told the Daily Record:

Negotiations are ongoing with Tom. We have accepted a bid. He is not fit at the moment, he has a slight ankle problem, but whether he stays or goes… David Turnbull coming in doesn’t affect Tom’s role.

Lennon signed Rogic in January 2013 from West Coast Mariners but it wasn’t until the arrival of Brendan Rodgers in May 2016 that the midfielder became a key member of the Celtic midfield.

Injuries and international call ups regularly interrupted his club career but with his days coming to an end Rogic will leave Celtic fans with some incredible memories.
