David Tanner has launched a desperate attack on SPFL Chairman Murdo MacLennan after Steven Gerrard was hit with a Notice of Complaint by the SFA for his criticism of Kevin Clancy.
The former Sky Sports anchor-man is trying to reinvent himself as some sort of personality but despite his backing for all things Ibrox he only has 11,000 Twitter followers which isn’t likely to bring in many media offers.
Tanner does contribute to Hibs TV and TalkSPORT but those gigs won’t be anything like as lucrative as his deal with Sky Sports.
During the summer of deflection an Ibrox statement called for the suspensions of MacLennan and Neil Doncaster without putting forward any worthwhile evidence never mind a smoking gun.
A succession of claims were made surrounding the vote that ended the 2019/20 season early with final places decided by average points per game.
Despite the backing of BBC Scotland and most media outlets the vote for an independent investigation into the vote was rejected by clubs with promotion and relegation completed, European places decided and prize money paid out with the Ibrox club picking up the second biggest cheque.
Was what Gerrard said any worse than the type of rhetoric used by SPFL Chairman Murdo McLennan in some of his extraordinarily waspish statements during the public rammy between SPFL & Rangers?
I came to the conclusion then that disrepute charges had been scrapped, otherwise… https://t.co/GLPNT3MQqa— David Tanner (@DavidTannerTV) September 23, 2020

Stewart Robertson leaked sensitive contract details when Rangers wanted the league continued, not a word said about this or his conflictvof interest.

Rubbish. It’s a considered view.
The language in the releases I spoke about is extraordinary.
Fuelling the fire, indeed! That don’t need me to do that – the super bigots on here can do that for both sides.— David Tanner (@DavidTannerTV) September 23, 2020
They should have charged him after his first game at Pittodrie when he claimed decisions have always went against his Newco club.
It might have been a idea to ask him to name one at that time.I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have been able too— Andy (@Bobolutontim) September 23, 2020
Same guy who said Referee’s are against his club and have been for YEARS???? Yeah, he shud be allowed to say whatever he wants and escape punishment every time??
