The civil war at Ibrox has been stepped up with Club 1872 accusing James Bisgrove of misleading a Fans Forum that discussed the nightmare retail contract with Castore Sport.

A very carefully selected group of 10 fans were invited to Ibrox last night for a Q and A with Andy Cole, Castore’s Head of Partnerships, joining by Zoom. Tom and Phil Beahon made themselves unusually scarce.

As their Twitter strapline explains Club 1872 are the fifth biggest shareholders in the Tribute Act but, like getting a place on the Board of Directors, they were excluded from Wednesday’s Q and A.

Bisgrove is a marketing high flyer who set up the Castore deal after taking a train trip to Manchester where his ambitions and vision were exactly matched by Tom and Phil. The loveable Liverpool lads are building an empire to topple Nike and Adidas from a couple of lock-ups even though both men resigned their posts as directors of T Carter Sporting Club in January.

Like the Beahon’s Bisgrove speaks complete jargon, never far away from discussing global reach, huge fan-base, digital revolution, joined up thinking and the usual buzzwords.

With Club 1872 showing signs of dissent losing the financial backing of the group that assisted Dave King into power may not be the smartest of moves.
